Just been checking the car over ready for GTI. I found the nut holding the WG valve on inside it had come off!

So i fixed that and made a spacer for the spring to increase the boost from 0.6bar (WG boost). The nut must have been off for a while as when i ran the car up the road with the WG adjusting bolt screwed in a 'few' turns it boosted way off scale on my 2.5bar boost gauge

So i removed the bolt and now it runs about 2.5-2.7 bar peak ad drops to 2.5bar at redline, with no audible pinging. LMAO. Not ideal way of tuning, but hell, just need to log timing with vagcom to make sure nothing nasty is gonna happen.

Hopefully next month Mihnea is gonna map it correctly at this level of boost, cos it feels so much faster. It is evil

Oh and no misfires on my "weak" 1.8T coils.
Guess i have proved that they do take high boost

i dont have an aim, just want to have some fun.

I dont feel very happy with it running this amount boost without being mapped. I have only driven it carefully keeping an eye on the boost gauge etc etc and oil temps. Gonna put it back to how it was almost

The 2.7bar club, is this one quite exclusive? I played around with the compressor map and hte 3071R will quite happily take 38psi+ in the 5-6k rpm region :mischeif:

So.. how do I join? lol in other words, what kinda stuff starts going 'pop at these kinda pressures? Hoses? The plasticy MAF?
