    Dodgy wiring

    Dodgy wiring

check oot me s2 wiring faults i have found.
Car is not boosting greater that 5psi and the guy i bought it from had a diagnostic carried out which revealed wgfv grounded to earth and the idle stabilization valve grounded to earth.

Found earth fault on wgfv plug wiring, bare wires touching inner wing due to the valve flapping about not fixed to anything. (Since found its proper location through the forum)

But whats really scary is that ive also found wiring which seem to have been connected to the wire going to terminal 4 of the air flow meter plug then wired in series to a switch under the steering wheel!!! (see photo)
    Any Ideas?

Dont know whos been messing with this car but the electrics are all to pot the alarm install looks well dodgy and the stereo cables have all been chopped, found loose wires in the engine bay with 12v+ straight to the battery (no fuse)

Check oot the nasty air filter it even says max power on the top of it think he got it free from a mag

this is me second s2 coupe and I was looking for a good project just hope I havent bought a kipper

    cheers

    Steve

Sort that wiring to the MAF asap. I would also check the the spring in the wastegate has not been tampered with and also check that your boost levels are within accepted level. Bodged Overboosting is a sure fire way to kill the engine.

(I take it you have move the WGFV back to its correct location from where it is in the photo... )

      Cheers.

        dodgy wiring

Have still to refit the wgfv back in its proper position but might wait as have ordered samco boost hoses from Paul.
not using S2 at the moment until I have sorted the following:
        Any advise on parts/mods?

Fit new drivers side electric window motor
rehose vac pipes found a hard section of what seems like micro bore copper pipe on the way to the dump valve looks like bodged repair to a broken hose
        Remove alarm and nasty wiring
        Fit new dump valve
        Fit new aux radiator
Need new airfilter of some type
        Oil change
        Coolant change

Hopefully I can get her back to good health so I can start the real mods

        cheers
