I have been having a think about this one and I reckon that for more power in the future that coilpacks are a much better bet than having my dizzy...and less rattly!
Did Minhea ever release the cheaper alternative to this or do I have to get the ABY wiring loom, ECU and god knows what else?
I've also been interested in this option (espec considering i've just broke the dizzy cog so thats being changed) I think I did see a comment about changing to coils as i'd also be interested in this providing it ain't too involved (i.e. full engine bay loom change)
In terms of the coil pack part of this 3B to ABY conversion, I think you will be WAaaaaay ahead if you use 034's high output coil system (5 remote (firewall) mounted coils). The reason I say this is because to use the ABY (or ADU or AAN) coils, the cam cover is different. With the 034 high out put coils, you run 3B-type leads from the coils to spark plugs so that part is more or less normal.
The 3B (or 7A) head can be modified with a bracket to mount an ABY/ADU/AAN hall sender ("cam position sender") behind the belt driven cam sprocket. You will need to buy a real CPS with the bracket as well as develop another bracket/mounting boss to mount the CPS unit.

The performance gain is actually more noticable when pushing higher power, i.e. the way the 3b's are made I think they will push roughly 450bhp before misfiring (or shooting a plug!) where as the coilpacks can handle much more power.
So changing to coil packs is more about pushing the limit of the tunability of the car.
If everything I have read is correct, then I should have no problems pushing 380-400 bhp with a dizzy and HT leads which is fine by me.
