2.5Tdi allroad, can they be chipped?

Mate asked me today if i knew anyone that did remaps for this beast. Its an auto and it has a bit of a flat spot when not in sport mode, he wondered if there was a generic chipset that might just give it a bit more low down to get round this.

I have such a beast - AKE engine at 180bhp and 430Nm in stock trim. Also has the automatic... Been meaning to ask MRC about remapping it. Be nice to get 200bhp and 500Nm if possible, along with better economy when cruising. Dunno if the tranny controller has to be tweaked also. Its a drive by wire throttle affair...

Its a great engine - prone to oil leaks though - and it makes for a great family wagon. A wee bit more poke would be nice but stiffer ARBs would be needed to increase the enjoyment factor with brisk driving. They are available OK, but mighty expensive.

Still on the hunt for one in the right spec but the values have come down a fair bit since the later models. I have to say i MUCH prefer the original Allroad to the new one, far too much 'bling' on the new grille and airdam for me.

200+bhp is a great step up from that 180 v6 which is already mighty pokey
