Whilst changing my idle control valve I spotted this wierd bit hanging loose. It had been looped over a wire under the inlet manifold. Can anyone tell me what it is/does?
The white sleeve just pulls off, but it reveals nothing other than a silver bit.
Looks like a hall sensor, just like one of the two fitted on the gearbox housing for flyweel check points detection.
Which of the two will tell you "Audi Parts Guru" or one of our other parts gurus on the forum.
looks like the g4 g28 sensor the sensor on the blok for rpm and ignition there thul be 2 sensors at the fly wheel.
on the first picture you have 2 holes on the gear box they shuld be there

No, it's not normal it runs freely around the engine bay !
Just take a look at the right side gearbox housing half way on the bottom. In the conjunction area where gearbox connects to the block there should be a small aluminum bracket hold in place by two hallen bolts on the engine block, which protrudes over the gerabox housing. This bracket helds two of those sensors, one on top of the other, slightly offset one to the other. If there is a missing one, put the sensor with its plastic housing back in the empty hole all the way down. Other than that, might be one of the gearbox sensors (?)....

Great isn't it,

I was thinking about that one for ages, it's easier to say than spell.... Mum speaks Italian, spanish, German, French and sometimes English.
It's a bit difficult keeping up at times
As long as you can order, beer, coffee and a room for the night there is no problem.
I tell you what if I end up at Carrara this summer I will have to call you to order the beer, I'll pay for it . 100 miles in your S2 will take about 50 minutes won't it?
