    Heat Shield

    Hi all

Been missing from the forum for 18 month or so, working abroad. Missed the S2 loads.

Left with a friend she has survived but its time to spend some ££££ on the old girl and try and get the best from her.

    List of Jobs:

    Stater Motor

    Suspension
    Top Mounts
    Subframe Mounts
    Engine Mounts
    Gearbox Mounts
    Diff Mount
    Prop Mount

    Clutch

    Boost Hoses
    Hose Clamps

    Heat Shield
    Boost Gauge

    4 Wheel alignment
    MRC Remap

And no doubt a few other things along the way. Some stuff I will be doing between now and the time she is going on the ramps for a few days in August, (thats months away) but its the only time I can get off at the same time as I have access to a ramp.

Have made my own heat shield already and fitted - will post pictures in a min or two.

    Wish me luck

Nice heatshield, you got anymore pictures showing it from the other side, was it easy to make? Blue goes well with the hoses as well.

Not been tested yet, as the car is off the road, lots of small projects going on.

However yuo really can feel the diffence from one side to the other even after 30 mins tickover.

One of those jobs ive been meaning to do for years but never got arround to.

If you are going to the trouble of all new hose clamps, go for Mikalor ones

Hi George, the shield looks like it was born there Does it sit flush with the bonnet liner when the lid is shut? I could be tempted to ditch the airbox if that gets good results, one of the best looking solutions to the heatsoak problem if it DOES work

I suspect its faily close, I am tempted to use some of the spare shield and attach it to the bonnet lining, havent found a soltion to that yet, may even line the inner wing under the cone.

will continue to play and update as time goes on.

                          Material

Came in a single sheet 600 x 600, easy to cut and mold

Lots of good advice from the guys there as well

Can I ask how the hell you managed to get cold air feed there? What did you chop/chuck away?

Also, where did you get the U-Turn pipe from for the airfilter? AND, what air filter is that? Im currently using iTG but its too big and gets squashed a little.
