    turbo damage

havent had my s2 long and only really driven it a couple of times as ive been repairing faults with the wiring to the wgfv and having bother with boost pressure not going above 5psi
noticed the turbo whining quite loud so I removed hoses today to check turbo but to my dispair I have found turbo impeller damage

Going to take it off to get a right look at it as there is metal particals in the lower boost hose there is also play in the shaft

change the hole unit: the impeller and the bearing are gone.... by another with 360 bearing, and have the IC and hoses cleaned for small impeller parts. they may wreck the engine

Agree with that would replace whole Turbo and full health check of all intercooler piping ...if you go onto the for sale section there is a couple up for sale (will have to look back a bit but sure laseravant has a couple)

Turbo's gone so look into how much you can afford to spend.
If you do fancy bigger don't forget to take into account all the other stuff that you may need-bigger i/c,injectors, mapping, manifold, hoses etc,etc
The first step is to check all the hoses to and from the i/c for debris as well as the i/c itself-Ive seen too many people just whack a new turbo on when 1/2 the old one is floating about in the intercooler!(and of course they blame the new turbo)

          Thanks for the input,

I was looking to upgrade and was trying to get her back to full working health before doing the brakes then remap for 280 was hoping to continue and get over the 300 mark in a year or two.

Now I will have to see if I can get a replacement to tide me over and get back on track or go the whole hog and get hybrid turbo, IC, and Manifold
Was prepared to spent this kind of money but not all at once
