    Wgfv Question On 1991 3b S2

    Hi All

The old S2 has been running fine, but now we have developed Low Boost Again!! the car is now only running on Mechanical Wastegate Boost only.

Just about everything was checked and replaced a few months ago including new
WGFV Valve (N75) New Silicone Vac Pipes, All the main Three Turbo hoses, Mfts Sensor, all pipes to ECU in car have been changed etc etc, get the picture.

I have checked the WGFV and no Klicks can be heard coming from it???? so as yet i dont know if its a power issue or the valve is faulty ( all the pipes to the valve are tight and correctly fitted & the wiring loom is ok) anyone any ideas????

What i would like to know is, does the WGFV get its power straight from the Motronic Ecu ?? and also is there a Relay involved somwhere along the line?? or fuses?? which may be the problem as to why my WGFV is not getting power to it??

Any help will once again be greatly appreciated here

    Have you got vagcom?
If I unplug my n75 it shows a fault straight away.
If yours is dead, I would do a continuaty test on the wires. I would have thought if the wire was broken it would be at the engine, as thats the waggly bit, causing possible brakes.

Easy, to check WGFV if u have Vagcom.
Just do output test, u should hear the WGFV clicking away.
Otherwise u can connect a 12v source across the 2 pins to check the solenoid.

It the WGFV is ok , check the diafram of the wastegate, if its torn or cracked u would get mechanical boost only.

Chances are high there is a broken wire to the valve. I've seen this on several S2s now.

It comes direct from the ECU but the loom close to the valve is quite short so can be checked easily.

Does the valve measure within specification 25-35 ohms ?
