gt3071,034 tubular manifold??????

i'm taking my S2 off the road in october to get it back to mint condition,
i'm planning to start with the engine.

i will probably be going for the gt3071 and tubular manifold route,
i have been looking at the 034 motorsport tubuar manifold and 3 inch turbo back exhaust,it looks to be good quality but i was wondering if anyone on here is running the manifold and has any comments on the build quality and fit.

i want to run a reliable 400bhp, i will be going to fit scat conrods and maybe uprated pistons but i've heard that stock S2 pistons can handle power increases so any advice would be much appreciated

My opinion on tubular manifolds is unless it's 314 SS or 3mm thick 304 SS it's not worth the hassle.

is there any cast manifolds that are suitable for 400bhp?

That one has been through some abuse and seems fine according to the US guys.

Head over to motorgeeks and look at christians thread of his 2.5 stroker.

It's on that car and held up to it's track abuse.

If your running a 3071 a cast RS2 manifold is fine for that turbo.

You do know that that manifold has a T3 flange on it so you'd have to buy a gt3071 with a T3 flange. also that manifold will increase the turbo lag but allow for more hp.

IMO just get a rs2 manifold or sports quattro.

Go cast manifold route, tubulars crack too often, and every second week if they not braced well. BTDT.
Im busy building a weld el tubular now, waited too long for Wagners cast sport Quattro replica to emerge from the foundry. :-)

I've run Pro-Mo tubular for 2,5 years. It needed first reweld on collector after 30.000km.
I'm really happy with it.

Wasn't a dig at postal workers mate, it was an analogy as they were on strike.
