If your'e happy with the price from the dealer then get those, i've used oem ones that don't last anywhere near as long.

True there is nothing wrong with the ones i took out the car but i have rebuilt the engine and am going for the 380bhp mark so for peace of mind i would like to put new ones in
the price quoted was £300 quid

There's a post / thread about a place in Nottingham that sells them cheap.

They are the same as used in VW cars IIRC

Tappets will be the same as vw 8v and 16v gtis ( you'll just need 20 of them!)

Yep, I would source them from the usual suspects either GSF or ECP. As long as they are a recognized brand such as Febi or INA, they should be ok. Think they were @£8 each last time I checked. So a good saving to be had there!

I always use vagparts.com.. simply because, they tell me if I can get the part elsewhere for cheaper. Top service and their packaing skills are top notch!
