Does anyone have the measurements of something suitable such as this?
Or even better, is there anywhere you can buy them?
I need to fit my RS2 IC, but cant afford to have the car off the road while someone makes one... or any other ideas of how to do it without buying an RS2 x member?
I guess this would be my best answer to get it on asap, and then do a better job when I dont rely on the car for work
It is posssible to use a long bolt with three nuts.
I did this with mine because time was running out when I was putting it all together, I think I had just a day or two before our rolling road session in July, it was a mad rush, and I could not get hold of a welder in time.
Basically I just drilled a hole into the crossmember and locked the long bolt into place and attached the IC bracket to the other end and locked that into place with two nuts. Sorry if this sounds a bit vague, I have no pics of it as I was not too proud of that bit of 'creative engineering' Although having said that it is solid and has held perfectly till now, its just not pretty.
I have no idea as to where he drilled the hole though?!
Was quite easy to weld a new bracket on, all I did was cut the old ABY brackey off with the mountings in the right position and re weld it into a different position with an extra bit of bar and it all lines up a treat since it uses the ABY mountings that were on there before.
If you take it into a local welding shop or garage they should be able to weld in in the right place for you. once the OE bracket is cut off it takes about 15 mins to get welded in the right place. Paint some hammerite on after and your're sorted
