    replacing the heatshield

So i removed the heatshield which sits between the wastegate/manifold and the head this afternoon, as you can see it disinegrated the moment i touched it into a pile of dust

Does this really need to be replaced and if so what the best replacment material or should i just order the oem refit? It looks like a dual aluminium skin with a fibre middle.

    Thoughts?

I think I would be tempted to order the OEM one up and fit that. I am sure it is there for a good reason. The alternative is to try and work out what it used to look like and ask someone to fabricate it!

I know which I would do.

    Cheers,

    Steve.

        The diy option.

Try these for heat shielding bits and bobs.
