Ahhhhh this old one came up before. Search the forum for something along lines of 'modified oil pressure relief valve' - I think MarkH and/or Doug looked into this some time ago. They ordered one to investigate and it just looked wrong apparently so we are none the wiser AFAIK.

Thats the pressure relief valve inside the oil pump, the modified valve #25 is an alternative to the one way valve inside the block. As Paul mentioned MarkH or Doug bought one and it was very different to the original, pic is in one of their engine build threads.91CQ20v - Gone to a new home
