    Starting Problem

    Hi

Have some trouble with getting the starter to run....

When I turn on the ignition everything acts like normal, but when i turn the key fully clockwise nothing happens...

One thing I see is that the airbag light flashes...

I read 12V on the plug that is located on the starter, but I am not sure if this is a relay signal or if this is the actual power supply to the starter. Anyone here to know? The plug I am talking about is located on the front of the starter assy next to the ground cable... And is connected with a small flat lug...

I have a standalone ECU, and i read some wierd flashes from it so I have sendt a request to the supplier.

I am currently thinking of three options:

1: The Starter interrupt device is blocking the power
2: The starter relay is broken
3: It can be the ECU (Less likely since, I dont think it has anything to do with the starter system)

Anyone here to know where I can locate the starter-relay?
Or know what a blinking airbag light indicates?

    Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Could be the ignition switch,[the bit you put the key in]I had this problem with my S2 and my s6,Its a plastic bit in side that breaks and you can't engage the starter.
If its broken you will need a new ignition barrel.

Ok, but I can read 12V in and out, and it delivers switched 12V when I engage the starter...

But what consequence does the plastic piece You reffer to have? Is it possible to check if its broken or not?

        Ok! Case Closed!!!

My friend that helped me and who disconnected the relayed cable didnt see that there is two connctions onm the starter relay. And the most visible one is not the correct connection point! So when I was about to check how to remove the starter relay i discovered the "hidden" connection. Replaced the cable and everything is working fine again!

And for the issue with the blinking airbag light, this is due to a disconnected cable that gos to the bumper sensor!

Well well back on the road!
