You can't put the power down with 2wd.
Sell your mint 16v, get a quattro coupe with a snapped cambelt and put the S2 motor in it.

Steve, I'd agree with Bry, bite the bullet.

            Kind regards.

Best option to do and would be easiest in the long run as you'd still want a quattro in the end.

If you stay 2wd on the project, I think this thread sums up where you'll be in the end.

Ian is right. With 2wd 3b engine 220 hp till 5 gear i couldin't accelerate wot. The wheels turning like crazy and the torque steering is dangerously high. Forget Torsen front diff. I tried also, not a big improvement. If you have money, buy an Quattro.
                  All the best!

I saw a guy at the 'ring with a 3B engined Audi 90 FWD and he was really quick. Didn't get much time to chat to him but he certainly had no problems getting his power down.

Would be interesting to find out some more details about how he's set it up, i've only heard of one fwd 3b engined audi and that was a type 85 coupe.
