Had a quick look already at the 3B PCV pipes from Jonas - very different layout than the ABY. I need to take some pics of the bits and if someone can show them fitted up to their 3B it will become all the more clear for me... The family album is rubbish for this.
Assuming we leave the bespoke metal pipes of the PCV systems alone, then we just need a common way to replace the rubber sections with something in heavier duty material.
Paul/Dave,
Can I ask if we're looking at days, weeks or months for the samco invention?
I have no hose at all (as can be seen from the mince above) so I need to sort something out in the meantime. A local engineering works have given me a price of 20 quid a pop if I want to get 20 Newsh style aluminum T sections made. Is that kind of thing part of your plan with the Samco hoses or will this be an all in one hose like the original?
The engineering firm did say they'd want an existing Newsh adaptor to work from though so i'd need a lend of one to get it done.
Hope this isn't considered as impatient or anything. I just need some kind of solution pretty soon.
cheers

Seems to be common that if it hasn't already gone it could be weakened. I'm getting a couple of quotes to get the aluminum pieces made the same way Newsh did them. Then I'll get a few bits of hose and do share whatever bits of hose are left over if anybody needs them. I'm hoping the end product with aluminum T piece, hoses and jubilees will come in at £30 to maybe £40 max.
Of course if David and Paul's samco version is due soon I won't have to r5e about doing this. I don't know if they know how much it will be yet.

While I remember - the 3B PCV plumbing is very different from ABY - I can't see a neat way to make a common aftermarket system.
The ABY has a metal version of the rubber 'dalek' hose on the 3B but the topology is all a bit different. The ABY uses a few short sections of ~25mm rubber links to connect mostly metal pipes.
I suspect that Dave's intent to replace the 3B dalek hose with a metal part are well founded but only applicable to that engine. Much of the rest of the 3B PCV plumbing is already metal pipes - which are expensive to replace (if damaged) at Audi prices of course.
Meant to add - I'll size up the rubber PCV links on the ABY to get an idea how much they would be from Samco... I would just order a long enough section of the right diameter flourosilicone hose and get those cut into the right sizes for ABY and ADU.
s2driveruk (Dave) is trying to get a metal replacement for the complex/silly rubber hose used on the 3B.
The PCV layout on ABY is improved and different from the 3B - it already has a metal part for the complex bit, but has different topology of pipes after that.
AAN - fooctifino - guess its more like ABY, but could be utterly differnt. I'll check on the family album.

I took this to mean there wouldn't be a 3B solution. I now gather Dave is working on it? So it will be a combination of Newsh's aluminum T junction with samco hoses attaced?
