My brothers mate bought a Civic Type R import and in Japan they have the Air filter down in the spoiler - He had ordered a uk one but the day before it arrived hit a huge patch of water and sucked the water in - bye-bye engine

I've heard that water is not a big problem. Some even put water specially into the intake.Water Injection. But it's big IMHO.Vadim.
