help! loud hissing noise & power loss on acceleration

    Hi,
I've an ABY which has developed a problem, I suspect a hose leak of some kind. I'm using the car day to day and so I'm very easy on it. Tonight however went for a rip and discovered something bad....when I floor it, acceleration is now accompanied by a very loud hissing noise from in behind the bulkhead (sounding like dump valve pssssss) and the car definitely feels down on power compared to the norm. It is bog standard stock, no mods or upgrades.
Coincidentally the power steering pump has started weeping via that crisshead plug on top...gonna get new seals kit tomorrow but I can't see how/don't think this is linked in any way
    Any ideas? thanks

defo sounds like a boost leak
check all the hgoses to see if they're any
    splits or cracks
check the hose that goes through the bulk head back to the ecu
pm andyp on the forum to see if he still has a boost leak test kit for sale

    re p.s pump
mine still weeps after i fitted a new plug
i think andyp put loctite or some sort of thread locker on his as his does n't leak

Make sure you check all the hoses as well as the hgoses .

I havn't got any of the test kits in at the moment, should get some more made by next week. If it's as loud as you say then you should be able to find the leak by checking all the hoses for splits/cracks.
As for the PS pump seal, yes I put loctite on mine and it's stayed dry. The screw and seal are about £3 from Audi.
