    Core plug replacement

Hi Guys, today one of my core plugs popped through the middle of the plug, and the plug which failed is the one behind the Air con compressor. So my aircon developed a sudden leak this afternoon and now the compressor is off. Would it be worth while replacing the turbo coolant pipe plug aswell, also what are they like to fit as i have never done one before.

If you can get a socket and hammer at it you should be ok, problems start when there is restrictive space and no room to get at it. I have an old BMW 2002 i need to pull a cyl head off for this very reason

One tip that will make your life much easier, put the new core plug in the freezer over night

Will, do, Thanks for the tip. Have a friend who works in my companys labs and he might be able to get me a flask of liquid nitrogen, or at least strap it into his truck and 'pop out' for a part with it in:mischeif:

Hi could someone please post the part numbers for the core plugs, i have looked on etka and the pic isnt very clear. I will order 4 blanks and 2 with the nipple (one spare).
Going through ETKA on dwg 103-20 i get the following part numbers, could someone confirm, also would i need the oversize plugs?
        036 103 113 A (36.6 plug--Standard i presume)
        036 103 113 B (38 plug (mm i presume) Oversized)
        035 103 111 B (Union with nipple i presume)
        Cheers
