    adjustable camshaft pulley

    Hello

I bought a adjustable camshaft pulley (dahlbäck racing modell). more modifications to be done later on.

Now when shall install it should I put the camshaft pulley marking on same place as it was before (on the left side RS2) or should I turn it towards the marking?

Hahah - think you'll need to find out for yourself... I would align it centrally to the 'wrong' position on the RS2 then you can adjust to left and right from that to see what gains you can quantify. Ideally you need three sets of dyno/roller runs - but thats not cheap.

The timing will depend on the camshaft spec.
Where maximum lift is on the new cams it in relation the oe cams.

Find exact TDC fit a timing disc on to the bottom pully mark zero degrees, then rotate the engine untill you have max lift/opening on no1 inlet valve. This value may be iro 112/114deg atdc. Some makes/longer duration cams need to be timed up at say 106/108 deg to get the best from them. The spec should be with the camshaft.

Some cam designers will cut the cam to give max lift away from stock to get you to buy a veriner when it is not really needed if the cam was cut to stock marks in the first place. A heavily skimmed head can also require a veriner to get the timing spot on

You can retard/advance the valve timing with a veriner to move the power band slightly.
