    Lightweight parts

    Hi guys.

Right order of the day. As per the title.

Body parts I am fine with but what about everything else to do with the engine bay???

Are we capable of getting leightweight bits for the engine??
    Crank ballancer?
Know we can get lighter flywheels.

What about the rest of the stuff, Alternators, pas pump, etc etc etc.

Trying to think of ways to compensate for any added weight like roll cage etc

Good Idea about the wheels etc.

Heard Compomotive are very light weight, which car was you thinking of doing the s2 or the coupe quattro?

Tbh there are lots of ways you could go about this, if you say what your planning on doing with the car then we could help out, i.e. if its the quattro and your planning on tracking/rallying it then first thing is extreme stripping of interior etc, replace the metal rear with strut bars.

It is going to be a bi of both, road driving when I feel like a country blast but mainly for show and track.
A;ready thought of wheel but that will be one of the last things due to size. trying to find where to loose the weight under the bonnet. The rest of the body I can deal with and interior as there are items out there that can be bought off the shelf so to speak to solve the weighty issues. Under the bonnet is a bit more specialist in the weight saving department due to the stresses put on the items in there......
I would like to keep the car stock weight after all has been done to it. That is the aim anyway so any little saving will be a help.

The body panels will be CF/kevlar and also the doors if i can get em

Tbh to keep the car stock weight if you do what you want with the car then remove the interior that will level it out as lightweight seats will make a world of difference.

Start by removing the sound deadening and stoneguard at least 10kg as for engine look at power steering pumps various different sizes between models also try adapting different alternators from other makes and models if your using a cast exhaust manifold use a tubular one instead
