Not so much a write up, as a scan from an AoA technical publication - I have the same book. He's right about going for the VMAP as an alternative - I've fitted a few of those now for folk, but they are mighty expensive.

One VMAP option I have seen is selectable for 2.5 or 3.0 bar and another is configurable with a dynamic range up to 4.0.

A number of factors effect boost.
These are:
fuel type
fuel quality
outside temp
outside humidity
atmospheric pressure

PM sent... Your problems are not specific to 'homefries' - you are getting fault codes as there is some kind of underlying fault. I'll help you try to root cause this one.

Well seeing as lots of people keep chiming in, pushing it top of the heap, and that Valjo has PM'd me to say that a new fuel filter cured the fault then I'm closing the thread.

It seems that Valjo had tried to get responses from me via PM but I hadn't got to them before frustration kicked in and he had hoped for some help here.

Valjo also asked me to close or delete the thread - I'm closing it !
