    ARP Main studs

How many members are using ARP main studs in the block?

Are they really required or will I be alright running the standard diesel block bolts?

I was going to buy some for piece of mind but I can't find to many members on here using them.

I'm using them everywhere but then I need every little bit of protection/strength for 9000+rpm
      :mischeif:

If your going for big torque I would fit them to your stroker mate

How much more torque is your Stroker expecting to run over a tuned Diesel Jamo?

If the answer is not much ( I would guess) then it sounds like OEM will be okay.

          9000 rpm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pisobiker didn't deem them necessary ( and he is god for me ) but I suppose the difference is I'm going to be running higher bhp and torque than he had setup.

O.K they stay on the list, still i'm interested in hearing other peoples views who are using them.

@ Papvas you have a very good point. I have the original one and the convention seems to be to reuse them in all the rebuild threads I've been reading

            You forgot the + in 9000+ rpm:mischeif:

And I would hope you would murder the torque figure produced by a oil burner

I'm running ARP in my 2.5 stroker.

Does the diesel bolts fit the 20v head?

only when the head has been machined. I've got Pisobikers ADU head which has the holes enlarged to 12.5mm

With that size turbo, you are fine with the OE bolts. When you start entering GT40R territory, then you should look at ARP studs for the crank.

I know, but what about lenght? Isn't the 10v diesel bolts shorter?

Pisobiker used A2 TDI studs cut back 20mm, i don't know about 10v diesel bolts as i've never seen them.
