    Overboost fault

Can anyone help? I have an intermitant boost fault on my ABY coupe that is driving me and my mechanic mate batty:confused:

It happens when you hit the go pedal at lowish revs, the engine cuts all power until you come off the gas. Then you are in limp home mode. You get "max boost exceeded" code on the diagnostic.

I have replaced the BOV, the Engine speed sensor, and the waste gate diaphram, no luck.

doesnt appear to be any leaks but you do get an uneven idle and a strange induction type roar occasionally at light throttle.

Any suggestions would be helpful, the local Audi garage were in shrugging mode " an S2, is that like an A2?"

    Crawford,

Seeing as you are so close to Quattro Sports in Haywards Heath, surely you must go visit Kim there..... Kim can be expensive, BUT, you have to hand it to him, he DOES KNOW his stuff!

        Air leak most probably...

        GO for the O-ring first
        The big turbo hoses next
        Then the narrow vacuum hosing
        Then ISV and PCV palava

Could also be a dodgy WGFV or leaking actuator hose.

        Whats a 'BOV' ?

Would be wise to also test/replace the WGFV and TBV. They aren't expensive and give you piece of mind.
