    Desperate for suggestions...

Ok, I hope for/need one of you boffins to come up with a cunning plan if at all possible.

The only thing stopping my car being drivable now is the MAF --> Turbo hose - the turbo end isn't big enough.

I have ordered Dialynx's competition kit (which comes with cone air filter) but that's not getting to me until Tuesday or Wednesday, but that covers roughly what I need, but needs modification to use on a street car (for WGFV, crankcase breather pipes, so I gather).

*Is there any way the standard hose for the ABY K24 MAF to Turbo can be adapted to fit the K27 turbo end?*

I dare I'll ask the AA (their catchphrase is 'Just A$k' isn't it?) will be asked to bring the car back anyway, but I'm asking in the faint hope someone can suggest something that'll allow me to drive the car back on Monday (somehow gotta fit it in between finishing work at 3.30am and starting again at 15.40am - gee, cheers roster guys at work )

Been ripping what's left of my hair out (you can laugh Tom, but you'll be bald b 4 me, boyo!) whilst my ongoing nightmare of no car/not knowing what's going on has been underway, but hopefully this is the light at the end of the tunnel. Just need the f!*%ing hose sorting now

Doug - thanks for those studs you sent - you're a life saver!

    Cheers, Paul

Ask Greg - he is using the standard hose with an extra bit in front of it to mate to the larger inlet.

Is the new turbo a 70mm inlet? And the standard turbo 60mm?

A Mark Intercooler mod hose - and a 60mm diameter metal hose (or drainpipe if it is close) - the length of 2 jubillee clips.

Has Leigh got his original intercooler hose?

The 70-60mm reducer on the 70mm inlet, the short length of 60mm pipe, in the 60mm reducer hose and on the other end, the original inlet hose - 3 jubilee clips.

Thanks Doug - yeah just had a 38 minute conversation to Siena's mobile (the Wife is just gonna laugh at me when the bill comes in - it's way past the 'divorce' stage now. I think she'll just skip to the 'sue' part.) and suggested he use 60mm steel pipe (from somewhere - fook knows where) and I have the MarkH mod 70-60 pipe on my i/cooler he can use - it's got a new o ring in so should be ok until I get another SFS pipe for it.

Have ordered the Dialynx thingy so that'll go on at some point once I've figured out what needs changing and where for the various bits going off.

Heading for a nervous breakdown with this fookn thing! Don't know how you cope!

Plus, I'm having to cope with running the wife's car about - she wouldn't let me go buy a cheap Carlton GSI 24v to run about in whilst mine is off the road. Arggh. (For that, I was thinking 100 shot of nitrous on progressive and a lotus carlton bodykit with a length of drainpipe out the back and 19" wheels, wider at the back and.... etc)

*Drool... Flibble... take me away ...*

Paul, I have used this item from Dialynx! It works fine. All you need to do is bond in the right angled bend for the bypass valve pipe, into the lower half of the intake pipe. The WGFV can just vent to atmosphere.

If you want a quick lash up so you can drive it, then make up a modified intake hose. Get the end of an old accordian type hose and chop it down so it is just long enough to get a jubilee clip onto it. Then use a short section of steel to join the original intake hose and cut off section of accordian hose, you should find this will fit the turbo perfectly.

If you can wait for the dialynx hose then its a lot of saved hassle. Its dead easy to fit and requires very minor mods.

The DV pipe went in this part. I just cut a hole in the pipe too small, forced the right angled pipe in and bonded it into place so that it didnt drag any air into it. Works a treat. Like I said, the WGFV can just sit wherever and vent to atmosphere.

Wrong picture? Thanks for the help Tom you thick young **** I'm not gonna go so easy on you the next time I see you, though I was impressed by one comment you made when u were pissed up. Can't remember what it was but it stopped me dead in my tracks The rest of what u spout is nonsense tho heheheh

When I get the hose I'll post a picture up and you can point to the bits I have to bodge to make it like yours.

Seriously considering the possibility of using all stainless pipes for everything with silicon hose sections at the joins, i.e. to intercooler, and for any major pipework. Anybody got any ideas on where to start asking about for that? Will look in the yellow pages for fabricators first. So there might be a set of standard ABY samcos up for sale on ebay when they arrive from Paul N, as some don't fit already :S

LOL, I've been there a few times Paul, I think I said somewhere here before, that we should have a group buy on some therapy sessions when we all get things sorted and have nothing else to do .

                Cheers,

                  Heheh group therapy....

                  Hair Restorer!

A group buy on hair restorer would be good too. What I've got left is turning white after the stresses and strains on the last few weeks!

Failing that, a group buy on burberry hats would be suitable. Tom would go for that, and so would ....err... no one else

Hi Paul, Andy Partridge here, long time no see!!

I've just read your post and it just so happens that I have a piece of 60mm steel tube in the garage, it's only mild steel not stainless but if you need a piece let me know and I'll cut you a bit off.

I havn't been on here for a while so let me know what the latest is with your car? and what happened to that test drive!!

Chris should be back from Spain in the nest month and he's already looking for an RS2!! I'll let you know if ( when? ) he gets one.

                    Andy

Good to hear from you Andy!

I think the car's been sufficiently bodged to get it running again, assuming everything's been put in right.

The test drive thing - be happy to mate when it's remapped and some brakes put on the car!

Still got the porker? Running ok?

Good luck to Chris when he looks for an RS2 - a few about, mostly LHD, but you know as well as I do the perils and pitfalls of old audis with fragile hoses!

Will give you a call (still on same number) when/if the car is sorted out ok.

                      Cheers, Paul
