    Throttle body

Hi, does anyone know what the wedge thing in the throttle body does on the S2?

We took it off Andy's car because it looked dumb.

Remember a post about this not so long ago. Was an AAN throttle body but sounds like the same thing.

I think its there to make the car drive better at small throttle openings, to git the car a more linear throttle curve.

Same with the throttle cam, if you look closely the cam is accentric this gives a linear throttle response as opposed to all or nothing.

The wedge has gone from Andy's throttle body now anyway, whether he likes it or not.

              David,

In theory removing it removes a restriction. I have also removed mine.

I am sure the Audi Engineers put it there for a good reason!

They don't put more parts on cars for the fun of it....

A common mod on the G40's is to remove the wedges on the throttle butterfly. The throttle body wedges are there to aid low speed throttle control & smooth set-offs, but depending on the size of them, can be quite restrictive on full throttle.Obviously this is based on a completely different car but the theory is pretty much the same.

I didn't post this one, it was a mate. He was upset that the ICE section hadn't received any attention over the last few months so gave it a treat

Where and how much... pointless for my setup but interesting nonetheless.

Going to look to have some plain butterflies made up to completely replace the exisitng wedge holed one.
