3B head skim

OK before anyone says anything I know I have been a stupid ****, as I reversed into my stripped down 3B head yesterday. Question is how much can be skimmed off the head. The damage is light scoring but is in the worse place...10thou skim would probably be enough. Recommendations for where to take it in the North west also appreciated.

As little as possible in short, but as you know you have to get rid of any imperfections on the face.

You can always go the two head gasket route after a skim. Your best bet is to find a good machine shop and let them look at it

There is a measurement from the seat of the head bolt to the gasket face of the head which you cannot go below. If you download the 3B engine manual from Mike's S2 site the measurement is in there.

I have ahd 12 thou skimmed off mine and used the ADU gasket

So are you saying the ADU gasket is slightly thicker? If so by how much? Or that 12thou has no detrimental effect on the engine running?

No affect at all with ADU RS2 gasket(sandwich gasket) which is thicker than standard which takes up some of the amount that was skimmed off (think it worked out about 4 thou)
