Excuse my ignorance, but why would a boost leak cause a misfire?

Sorry I probably could of explained it a little better! I should of said it feels like its missfiring under full throttle! After having sat down at work today and thought about it properly it makes sense for it to be a boost leak. If air is escaping from somewhere as i'm driving then it will lose power for a split second which will feel like a missfire! However when i let off the power the boost is not sufficient to cause the leak so the car accelerates properly!
What I have written makes sense in my head but probably doesnt make sense to anyone else! So sorry to anyone that is reading this lol!Comment

Lots of ideas: boost leak, spark plugs, spark plug boots (assuming ABY), POSs (not likely but possible) and coils (assuming ABY). You need to go through an organized procedure. I suggest trying this one that I wrote for the UrS forum on AudiWorld:
