    S2 -> RS2 cruise control compatability

Will a Cruise control system from an S2 fit an RS2?
I assume my car will be ready to plug and play?

    Thanks,

    Absolutely the same thing.

You do a plugnplay following this have a look it worth believe me:

I think it's a superb "how to" thanks to Mecki!

I used google translator and it worked on my RS2 just perfectly!
    S2 it's just the same

        hi,

yeah, mecki collects over years all good posts in his forum and the FAQ grows and grows.... good thing i think!

the complete cruise control fits from S2 ABY to RS2 ADU and otherwise.

S2 3B is in some things a little different, but that cruise control fits also 99%.

This is from a 3B, you think will still fit on an RS2?

Well i can say by expierence that it might be you can find a difference on the diameter of the collar in the cruise/indicator stalk......
Olders 80 B4 series do have a smaller ring/collar that would not fit i know because i bought one Tempomat/Cruise on Fleabay and found this problem........ but!

But if you'll encounter this problem you can easily take off just the stalks from both cases and stick the one with the Tempomat control onto your existing case.

            It's dead easy believe me.

Without the Mecki's PdF it can become a nightmare even if (like me at the time) you have all loom diagram etc etc.
The original daigram from Audi tells you to get the speed signal from the 21 poles plug behind the dash for example...... and you don't want to get that thing open and plug a wire into it!

Getting every connection in the central underneath the wheel it's just BRILLIANT!
That guy Mecki his a genius!

The VSS (vehicle speed signal) is all over the place - easy to find if you know where to look. Having the schematics, and ability to read them, just makes you look like a genius

Mine one came from a 3B.

So far the only things i've had to change are the diaphragm bracket, and the throttle connecting rod.

                      Bowlerwell, then

do you have a S2 3b with Control Cruise from RS2?

I have just read that you have a Rs2 with Cruise Control from S2 3b... but my question is if vice versa also fit?

                      Cruise control from Rs2 into a S2 3b ??? is it possible?

Don't know for sure, but i'm pretty sure all the parts are common apart from the bracket and Rod.
Someone with a copy of the family album should be able to tell you.

Be careful - there are several versions of the cruise system. Bowlerwell is right about different mechanical rods & brackets - many other components are common.

You must get the right loom and control module from the same type of system to make it work correctly on 3B, ABY or RS2... You cannot mixup old type controller with new-type loom without some wiring tweaks.
