I got a 044 Bosch in-tank pump from PK motorsport in Germany. It is a complete set incl. the plastic and rubber parts of the basket. For a good price and plug&play!

You can install a 044 in the fuel tank. Needs a V8 two piece 60 mm fuel pump basket and a couple of fittings but it can and has been done. Doug (now of MRC) did this years ago in his coupe and many people have done this in their C4 UrS4/S6s.

Fuel pumps (all pumps for that matter) can supply high pressure at lower flows or lower pressures at higher flows. The fuel delivery curve is just that a curve (with flow as the y-axis and pressure as the x-axis) that starts high and then drops off as the pressure increases. The Bosch 044 is one of the pumps that has a fairly flat curve and does not drop dramatically until pressures well above what our 3B, ABY and AAN engines can handle. Remember the FPR is a differential pressure between the fuel rail and the intake manifold pressure, in psi 28 psi boost requires at least 86 psi at the rail (4 bar = 58 psi).

Have you done the math on the pressure thing lately? A 4 bar FPR means there is 4 bar across the fuel rail. When you are boosting 28 psi (about 1.9 bar), the fuel pump has to put out over 5.9 Bar just to pressurize the fuel rail. Add in line pressure losses between the tank and the fuel rail, you need well over 6 bar at the pump.

only repeating what was put on web site
sorry but don't shoot the messenger
    i was only asking

the website says it's a bosch motorsport fuel pump
the 044 pump gives more litres/hour @ less pressure
    that is what confused me
