  • valve to piston clearence..

i have no previous audi engine rebuilt experience.
will order hi lift cams now but what about valve to piston clearence?

actually we asked for .5 mm lovered valve places on pistons but still...

do you think i can install 13.95 mm lift camshafts?

any help on this topic pls

Not without serious head modifications. the top of the valves will touch the valve stem oil seals and also the springs will be coil-bound. that means that the spring wont compress anymore.

Check out that cat cams website, it has all the infomation about different cams on there, with work that needs to be done.

There must be a gain of some sort. Why would Porsche have changed the ABY cams in the ADU? Again, why do ppl keep putting 7A cams into the engine? There must be some advantage, put im unsure what exactly. That is why i spent the money on some s/hand 7A cams. Much cheaper way of getting high lift cams.

You need different cams to bring the temperatures in the head down.. Increasing the power makes a lot of heat which will cause the head to crack...
