Injector Tests

Guys

Looking through the posts and many posts mention checking the loom to the injectors etc. I have an intermittant error showing on injector 1 re: open / ground etc. Where is the other end of the injector wires located so i can do a continuity test and also is there something that i can test with a Digital Meter re: voltage etc at the injector plug.

Dont know where they are located but, a DMM will not relly help or even a digi scope. Not likely to catch the 'event' if it is intermittent.

Best bet is to use a single wire to substitute for the '+ feed' and then the 'return wire' on inj. 1.

Do one wire at a time and go for a drive, the fault should be apparent when you have jumpered the faulty wire, as it dissappears.

All you can do is check that the injector has a 12v live to it when the ignition is turned on and check the continuity between the injector negative and the ECU.

If there is a intermittent break in the 12v to the injector, you could run a peice of wire to the plug from a switched 12v source to solve the problem.

If negative is broken it could be a pain to find unless you run a wire from the injector plug to the corresponding pin on the ECU this will save you stripping the whole engine loom to bits

The other ends of the injectors go to five separate two pin connectors on the bulkhead, roughly directly behind the back of the rocker cover, just below and to the right of the brake fluid reservoir.
