    Makes sense.
I've been to see doug and have to say he's a cool chap..
I didnt want to spend £500 on a custom map yet as i'm planning to do internals, turbo ect.
seems a bit of a waste for now ..

Right-Oh ... I am still alive... Just haven't been here for a week or so. Been ill, done the family xmas thing and had some time under my own car for once.

There is a queue for homefries at the moment. I'm going to try to get PMs out to everyone involved this week with an estimate on 'cooking time'.

If you don't need use of the spare/loaner ECU then you can jump the queue of course as you aren't waiting for that box to travel round the world.

Can you please confirm whether you would sell just the chip so I can get it fitted locally please?
I have to use my car every day for work, and cant afford for it to be off the road/dont want to wait for ages to get the loan ecu.

This would also allow the car to be run on the rollers, fit the chip and then rerun it on the same day. Has anyone ever done that comparison?

                    Paul.

Just out of interest and curiosity, is the "Spare / Loan ECU" Homefried? i.e. Do you get a taster of what's in store before the customer ECU is returned?

                    Cheers,

                    Steve.

Yes indeed - its the 'try before you buy' principle - needs a deposit of course but yes thats the way it works. I've had someone running it over the holidays who reported much better MPG than the AMD conversion he was running (big spring job).

Sorry dest..... You can have the loaner for sure to do such back to back comparison if you like, but lots of folk here have seen decent gains on the rollers. Like 270-280bhp plug and play, or with some intake & exhaust tweaks like Andy has done getting curiously close to 300bhp.

I prefer not to offer a chips-only conversion if possible, just cos I prefer to do the socket work myself and test things out. But if thats the only option for you and you are happy to trust the work to a 3rd party then OK - send me a PM !

Q is about 10-15 deep right now. Price is £250 all in - that includes me fitting sockets, the chips and a quick sanity test and covers postage anywhere within UK.

Q only applies to those needing the spare/loaner ECU... Its 1st come 1st served if you wish to send your ECU onto me for therapy - just be sure to let me know in advance so I know when to expect it. I generally turn them round the day they arrive. So don't be thinking you need wait 10-15 weeks here !!!

Anyone used www.ultimot.de before? They sell chip only upgrades for 118EUR+shipping. I'm seriously considering Homefries but it would be nice to try a different product to see what it's like at that price.

If we can get as many ABY ecu's together i.e. Homefries, MRC generic, Ultimot, MTM etc it would be interesting to plug them all into the same car and do some back to back RR tests on the same RR.
