    7a head troubles -Help

My 7a head does not have the extra room in the head for the hallsensor.
Any tips on how to get this machined 100% like the 20vT heads?

-Bacuse it have to be 100% in the right position, orelse the timing can be bad, right?
-I do plan to run the oem Motronic

All help is appreciated greatly as this delays my lovley new engine

    cheers,

    You have two options -

1 - Talk to 'spink' on here - he is in the UK unfort for you but has knowhow and experience to add the hall sensor bracket.

2 - Run with an AAN dissy that 'just' has the hall sensor installed - they were like this from factory at first - lets you run 7A or AAN inlet camshaft and keep direct ignition.

So you only need the dizzy which is on the back left side of the head, and put the hallsensor into it, if I have understood you right.

Is there any pro's or con's running it this way rather than the 'factory' way?

      Cheers paul!

034 does the machining for the AAN CPS bracket. I'm sure you could find a machine shop to do it for you.

Anders, any half decent machine shop can do it for you.Just take both the 7a and your old ABY head in.I would have done it for you when i sent you the head but the bridgeport wasnt setup at the time.

I got around the problem by using a slightly altered mounting boss off of an early ABY head (the later heads had this cast into them).

If you have a spare ABY, ADU, AAN head handy for reference it shouldn't be too hard to make something up.

The one below is on a converted 7A head and its running perfectly.

                Cheers

                  Spink, thanks for the PM.

Looks like its either the dizzy way or the Mark-H-head-mod then, as my tuner really did not want to machine without a jigg.

Thanks for all the fast and good anwsers

Don't know, I took it off of my old ABY head.

I did notice that it didn't have a part number on it though.

                      Cheers
