    k27 7200, any use?

I've been offered a K27 7200, can I do anything with this on my UrS6?

I have zero turbo technical knowledge.

no need to take the piss and try and belittle people who openly say thay are not sure.

there was once and still will be days we are all not sure.

go for a garret based turbo. if you want a kkk based easy bolt-on then get a kkk flanged GT. otherwise save a few quid and go non BB. if you need a contact let em know

                        Cheers for that.

Guess that this guy is wrong too as it is where I got the info and pics from. Plus this google search doesn't bring up many K27 7200 hits, honestly!

I think all of the "experts" on this forum are great!

If it’s from a 930 it won’t be a great at all, because the Porsche engine was air cooled they ran an oversize turbo rather gently to keep the temps down. Lots of lag, even with a 3.0 engine it had lots of lag. Best suited to hairy chested drivers from the 80's.

It’s also a dinosaur vs the garret stuff everybody’s fitting these days.

I think that is a Porker number alright and if its K27 then yes it will be too laggy here. LOL at mcandmar 80s comment - brilliant.

I still say the best bolt-on turbo for the I5 is the RS2 item - it remains this day, the only turbo specifically designed for that engine so it does a fine job at the compromises between low-end tractability and max boost performance. True with factory ECU programming it is somewhat laggy and has on/off character but that can be greatly reduced with better software.

The newer generation of Garrett BB turbos are mindblowingly good it must be said - with even less lag and better top-end when properly setup. However they aren't true bolt-on due to the different oil, water and flange fitments - unless you get from a source that uses the KKK centre and has the right adapters for flanges etc. Ok I'm wavering here now, but if an RS2 turbo comes your way at the right price then go for it.
