Info I have from family album on Coupe is confusing. I think there is an error - it calls up 034 115 105B for 3B, NM and 7A but not the ABY. Sticker price in UK for that is about £170 plus VAT.

On the RS2 - which I expect has same oil pump as ABY is 054 115 105 D which has now been superseded by 054 115 105 E at approx £240 plus VAT... Which is listed for the NG motor on the Coupe.

Looking at 80Q then the ABY option looks believable - it is the same pump as RS2 - that same 054 115 105 E. Also calls up a washer 034 115 197 and new oil temp sender 035 919 521 B.

      Thanks Paul.
I was supplied a 034 115 109 pump, the pump looks correct but the pulley is way too recessed.
All these damn small problems are holding up my project. :-(

Quite often, that last character changes over time as they refine / improve / cost reduce the part number. The parts system will tell you when a part number has been superseded by a new one, but I too think that 109B number is a bad one.

Is it your crank pulley that recessed too far? I don’t really understand how an oil pump can change that

054115105e is the right pump for an ABY. The old type 034115105b fits the
3B/RR/MB/MC engines. THe only difference between the two types is the design of the belt shields and the older type has a relay roller for the cambelt.

                  In V7 it list ABY pump as 054 115 105 E and then these pumps as alternatives 034 115 197 & 035 919 521 B

I asked my good friend "KATE" (red-headed parts counter person). She says, that if you put 034 115 105B into ATP "All models", its a good part serving all the way back to the 1980's I5s, but not Audi 80 quattros. In contrast, if you put 054 115 105 E into ATP (with no spaces) and "All models" you get a hits on the more modern I5s including the AAN and ABY, e.g. 94 A80Q, MG.1, SG 15, Illustration 115-30, Item 1.

                      Good luck.

Better read that page again Jamo. 034 115 197 is a washer and 035 919 521B is the oil temp sender. Not alternative pumps.

The cast number (054 115 109 B) will relate to that particular metal component which is only a subpart of the whole oil pump assembly. Most parts that are made up of smaller components will have confusing numbers stamped/cast on them. These are what I term factory part numbers as in they are used in the actual production of parts but have little relevance when it comes to replacements.

F**k me this would explain why I couldn't work out what pump I have.

It's got 054 11 109 B cast on it but family album has no record of this part number
