Depends low pressure turbo is an easy one, for the full blown thing it is a complete rebuild with custom pistons the works, but you will end up with a mega strong engine in the process.....

            .

Very popular conversion in the USA, go on the motorgeek.com site and also check out 034motorsport.com. for parts.

Error404 : Carlos? Has he got his project on Project Room?
Azman : i compared the low pressure turbo without changing pistons, conection rods,etc...
Skull23 : compressor is good, but the turbo is a turbo. Take ,that the engine 7A has his full own power from 4 000 rpm/min , so i think that the using the turbo will be better for the use full potentional of the engine...

a 7a is a good staRT for FI.

                basically a vw16v engine + 1 pot.

to do proper you need rods and pistons.

the most important part is the ECU. its all about fuel and air and timing. turbo is a turbo and turbos all do a similar job its all about compromise between top end and bottom end.

id go scats and wiseco's or JE.
                tubular and a gt or a t3/t04e 57 or 60 trim with a stage 3 0.63 hotside.

stacked gaskets with arps will hold 400whp if the vw is anthing to go by but try t okeep torque below 350lbsft if you use the standard internals and 2-3 gaskets.

i'm turbo'ing my 7a lump and fitting into my UR quattro, but i wasn't sure if crank journals were different size to s2 (ABY/3B etc). Is it just custom pistons for the bore increase that are needed?
