    2.2 10vt power holding back

my a100 2.2 10vt seems to be holding back on the power,

i'm getting an initial burst of power/acceleration and when it reaches around 4500rpm, it feels like a restrictor is kicking in which is very very annoying,

i know the timing belt is needing renewed and have it booked in for next week to get done, but i would'nt have thought this would cause this kind of problem,

a mate of mine was telling me that in his s4, when the ecu had an error code it reverts into safe mode cutting back on power, so is there a likeley hood this could be the problem with mine??

it's so frustrating because the power is there untill the revs hit the 4500, so can anyone point in me the right direction as to what could be the problem.

It could be tripping into limp home mode, best bet it to check for any fault codes. Not sure what the setup is on the 100's though

yeah, the guy i use for doing the timing belt has the audi diagnostic equipment so i'll get him to do that when it goes in next week,

i was just wanting an idea of what the exact cause could be, so i'm ready for the bill when it comes.

          tyvm chaps for the replies.

            Is because the fuel pressure!
            Check the presures and hoses.
