    2079 Tool

    Hi Guys,

Would it be possible for someone to provide the length of the 2079 tool from center of 27mm bolt to the centre of the wrench connection at the other end?

Hope that makes sense and thanks in advance.

    Darren.

Thanks for the response, the tool you have pictured is the locking tool, i think 3256 AAN, 3197 ABY.

The 2079 is effectively an extension to your torque wrench bringing the torque down on the wrench from 450nm to 350nm.

        Thanks again.

Yep that's the one.. What i need is the measurement between the 27mm socket and the square drive.

With this tool attached i will be able to use my torque wrench as it will come into its scale.

It will save the current method of standing on the scaffold pole in the appropriate place to get the correctish torque.

            Thanks for your help.

Thats easy - forget the 450Nm value (or 350 with the 2079)...

Audi issued a number of technical bulletins of the timing belt job - you can go for 200Nm plus 180 degrees. No 2079 required, but you will need that scaffold pole and/or some extra steak and eggs for breakfast
