          oil

Castrol magnatec 10w/40 and occasional addition of slick 50. Always ran well with it.

I'd also agree with the 10w 40 tbh think 5 is a bit thin.

5W-40 is best in winter and if you use the car on relatively short journeys (>15 mins) becasue it is less viscous it will provide better protection from cold and under cooler running conditions. 10W-40 will be fine in the summer or if using for longer journeys.

Far more important is the quality of the oil used IMO

Viscosity depends a lot on the mileage of the vehicle- 5w50 too thin for anything over 100k, 10w50 better bet. IMO

But as said previously, quality oil is far more important (fuchs/mobil/castrol) and before every oil change use a flush and
                          OE filter.

5w40 for me as I do short journeys and crawls sometimes.

                            Next would be 10w50

                            Haven't found a single good 10w40

There is no correct oil just the one that suits your driving best.
