Sumps(A/c vs non A/c)

I have heard there is a difference,but what is it?

only the side of the sump...dont know the right name...At ac cars has the oil return from turbo in there...At non ac ones the oil return line is in block where the ac commpressor will sit..

The only difference I know of is that the turbo return goes into the wing on the sump rather than into the block as per usual!

Can someone give me please the dimensions of the oil return line-flange on the samp like on this picture in Post 1? Or if it is the same overall the dimensions of the return flange on the block.

The difference is not air-con specific as my bros s2 avant with aircon has the return in the block and my aby s2 with aircon has the oil return in the sump

It is specific if the car came with air-con from the factory as you can't return to the block with OEM aircon as the aircon compressor is in the way.

There are a lot of S2's with Audi UK fitted aircon however and this is where the difference can occur.

Oil return goes to the block on non-A/c cars.




With (factory fitted) A/C the block oil return is covered by the lower compressor bracket. Hence the need for the return to the sump.

dimensions please! I have a diesel oil return line and want to know if it fits the RS2 so i modify it for the Holset.

Take a pic of the aircon rad as well it will so if it's aftermarket.

Saw a car at Sal's being broken which was aftermarket on the S2, i've seen a few now and they are botch jobs!
