Try driving with the MFTS plug off, is it better?

Had another look over the car today, and I took 20v quattro,s advise and disconnected the MFTS and bingo the boost is back, the little 1year old brass ******
was at fault. Better fork out for another new one I suppose.
Also noticed one of the wires is of the other two pin plug on the water rail, I have no idea what this is or what its function is, perhaps some one can enlighten me.
Once again thanks for the help guys ,what would I do with out you.

The sensor next to the MFTS is for the after run pump. It will engage if your coolant is to hot once the engine has been switched off.

These should both be connected or the after run system will not work.

Was the dash temperature gauge affected ? When you disconect the MFTS the gauge will not read & most folks with a failed MFTS notice the gauge fails. Its possible for it to 'part fail' but I am curious.

I tried tapping the MFTS with a spanner as suggested on here, then plugged it back in and went for a drive, sure enough boost dropped back down again. So I pulled it of again, but still no boost. So I disconnected the battery to reset the ECU and it returned.
SO that means that the fault is stored in the ECU but will not show with the blink codes. Is this correct or am I missing something here.

I don't think it matters what way the wires are on the after run temp sensor. You can test if the pump and the fan works by connecting the wires together. With the engine off .
