Nice VI... Not bad I think.. but i'd prefer a little higher viscosity @ 100°C like this :

    here is :

Why use 10w-60? The viscosity is too high when hot, not even the oil pump is designed for that viscosity.

An ester pao 5w-40 or 10w-50 would be about right.

14 to 18cst at 100degC (that's sae 40 or 50) is more than adequate in a car where 11cs is the OEM recommendation for standard road cars

          are you kidding ????

          if it can't pump 17 cSt @ 100°C how would it pump @ -10°C ????

there are insignificant behavior changes between 15 Cst or 25 @ 100°C !

but the lubricating film resistance will be higher @ 25cSt than @15 !

I have used low viscosities in my S2 (an others) and when getting above 100 °C up to 120°C the viscosity is too low to ensure the good function of hydraulic push rods !

I agree but an sae 50 at 120degC is roughly equivalent to an sae 40 at 100degC.

120 degC is pretty high temp-wise for all but a proper fully synthetic.

Surely at this temp an uprated oil cooler would be a better solution and sticking with something like a decent 5w-40 synthetic, a proper one?

                Cheers

I'm going to try it !!!!
the problem is that you never know how much pao an ester it contains....
to have an objective opinion we would need to know whitch additives are used and how much..... but we'll never know that !!!!
