why not just fit a proper boost controller and be done with it?

N75 valves are not stable above a certain boost.
My N75 Valve started to leak at a tad over 2 bars of boost.
Im curently working on a setup to plumb in a greddy solenoid from a profec b boost controller kit inplace of the n75. (not using the profec b boost controller just the solenoid that controls the boost.)
Failing that I will use a regulator inline with the feed for the N75 to make sure the N75 does not see more than 1.5bar boost. This will also give the wastegate diafram an extended lifespan.
Not sure how the response will be thru the regulator or by using the Greddy solenoid, but i guess trial and error will tell me.
Jamo mentioned someone else working on an upgraded N75 or N75 alternative aswell.

Me is also "working".
I'm trying (very very slowly) to develop boost controller which would work together with Motronic (including Motronic failsafe/mechanical boost functionality, at least on 3b, which is my test mule). It will also use upper WG chamber for high boost applications.
However, in my design, this EBC may REDUCE life of N75, because I'm making it for my track car. As soon design (and prototype) will be finished and tested, it (and code) will be published here.

i uplugged my standard crap and fiited a turbosmart eboost 2 and never looked back. had better faster and more stable boost from then onwards.
car was better standard, tuned, more tuned. basically a general improvement.
just bcause its the right one for the car 12 years ago doesn't make it the best atr the job. most ford boys use standard bits and where does that get them?Comment

I've not been desperate to use the N75 valve in the past. I have for nearly two years, until now, been happy with mechanical boost control and "limp" mode has still engaged when the ECU sees a problem. However, at this point in my project I don't want to introduce yet another element (an electronic boost controller) - I just want it finished and drivable using (albeit old) technology I (kind of) understand (thanks to this forum).David

...and it wasn't. Now I have a melted cable for the N75.
Can only blame myself.
