question : K26/GT3071 Dual BB Turbocharger

Hello to all.
I'd like to have your opinion about this turbo.

I'm planning to change my RS2 K24/7200 on my ABY (RS2 modified) to this Garett GT3071.
If you have a feeling about this one :

Here are my mods :
RS2 inj.
RS2 Exhaust/inlet manifolds
7A exhaust cam
RS2 Intercooler
Chiptunned
my exhaust seems to be a little restrictive so I won't be able go over 380HP anyway.
I'd like to have boost a little earlier than the RS2 K24/7200 (full boost @4000 rpm 1.8/1.9 bar - boost @7000rpm around 1.4bar)

- behaviour @ low revs
- behaviour @ high revs
- Installation (does it mounts without mods ?)

If anyone have tried, I'm interested !

The GT3071R is a fantastic turbo that will have a matched boost threshold to your existing turbo. If you want a lower boost threshold, look to the GT2871R. It will give you about 420 crank hp but spool up quicker than the RS2 K24.

Whats the GT3071R rated to? about 500bhp?

i would say rather 460 bhp. Ot has a rather small 53mm compressor inducer diameter.

450 if mapped very aggressively but more likely 430bhp

You will need bigger injectors, Javed of 034 does an injector and generic chip upgrade for this turbo on an RS2 Spec.

want a laugh? i just made 358hp crank supposedly on a maha dyno at 1.65bar on the 3071R turbo.....which i think is way out of proportion since i also have 56Nm of torgue!!!!!
i think it is impossible!!!

Didn't Ross's old Coupé make ~430 bhp with higher than stock CR and the 0.63 hotside?
That would suggest that even with the smallest hotside it's possible to make more than that with a lower CR and more aggressive timing.

Anyone want to guess a power figure for my spec............. Hopefully run at least 2BAR.

That's what I said more aggressive mapping

Remember Ross was at 2.0 - 2.1 bar which is on the edge of the garrett map.

55lbs are too good for this turbo.I use the 52lbs (green tops) which are big and thankfully give me no cold start problems.

If you run a steady boost @ 2bar then you will easily get more than 400hp crank.The tubular EM also helps in the boost area and the ability to have low EGTs,but the .63A/R is a tough compromise.

If i were to choose all over again,i would sacrifice 500rpm to get an easy 450hp with a GT30R turbo

I have a 034 adjustable fuel regulator so shouldnt be a problem. If i can run more boost than 2 bar i will if it makes the 450bhp. See what happens once mapped. The joys of having a good mapper as a mate and a rolling road

That is ridiculous, on a MAHA, that probably means you pulled less than 200hp at the wheels?
