timing belt jumped

well i got the head of yestarday and there's good news and bad news. the good news is that no valves are bent, not even a mark on them.

bad news is the heads cracked on cylinder number 2. it's cracked between the spark plug and both inlet valves (ie cracked twice).

there's a helical coil fitted to it (ie were the plugs been blown out and the thread has been replaced). this explains the lock tight i found on the spark plugs

There is an acceptable Audi Factory limit on those crack IIRC, Its either one or two threads in the spark plug recess.

Do a searcg for "Cylinder head crack" and it should come up....

It’s cracked right into the exhaust ports, when you compare it to the other cylinders you see how little material there is with the helical fitted. So it no surprising that it cracked.
