Wat does this mean?
on the little screen iv got the number 53 there all the time cant find out wat it is
any body know (if its bad dont tell me)

I had this before,sounds like a problem with the stalk or wiring that goes inbetween, I got it because I had s2 dials in a 20v quattro sport without the stalk.

Is yours the aby stalk? if so pm sal_s2 as he had a few when I enquired about one for a 3b. (they are different 3b has two stalks on right side of the steering wheel and aby has one iirc)

It's not 53, it's S3 - The Audi use-by date is up, and it's telling you to upgrade.

Does all the other icons work on the autocheck as it could be the settings on the autocheck..

My guess is that its one of the reset buttons (the ones going through the instrument cluster, not the stalks) has stuck in, try tapping the buttons and see if it disappears, I seem to recall, if you turn on the ignition while keeping one of them pushed, something similar happens.... I think the info is on S2 central somewhere......

it is the aby stalks not sure about the wiring tho.
will try the thing with the reset buttons see if that sorts it.
not sure bout autocheck system sure it has only ever shown the number 53 how can you check that.

Like I said, I had this on mine because it was not getting a signal from the stalk as it just wasn't there, I never got any other warning from anything of the sensors just the 53 all the time.

53 is the country code of the cluster i think - pretty sure you have an issue with one of the rods in the cluster is stuck in

hello all
i had a look at the wiring to the dials that all seems fine not sure how to get to the wires between the stalk (help pls)
have played about with the reset buttons no change.
the other thing is where can i get the bulbs for the clocks

i'm not sure how to strip apart the stalks like that but iirc its just screwed together, you could ask sal_s2 how much he would want for a stalk as he had a few when I was there.

If you get a bulb out either go to maplins who should have them or ebay.
