    S2 flow rate in CFM

Does anyone know what a standard S2 air flow rate is in CFM and how much it is with Homefries installed. Trying to correctly size up the charge cooler etc I need. thanks

Do a search here for Turbology and my spreadsheet thang - its on S2central.net as well - send me a PM if you can't find it. There is some useful estimations on VE and such in there, but without flowbench figures and thermal analysis of air temps in and out of the IC then its darn hard to quantify their efficiency.

An RS2 intercooler has been used up into 450bhp territory. I wouldn't want to push an ABY or 3B one past 350bhp but thats just gut feel really.

Consider water injection also if air temps concern you on a big power motor - that has been proven to work on the 20VT engine. DJones runs it on his MD357 monster and I reckoned he is getting about 5% cooler air temps because of it - you'll find spreadsheets that model his setup if you look hard enough

I've used the stock ABY inter cooler to 450hp region, but thats with a ball bearing turbo spinning within its efficiency. Water injection gave me about 7-10hp extra iirc and a temp drop of about 10 deg.
check my project posts for details.

        Info

The turbology info very helpful. Now just need someone to tell me what pressure the 3B homefries run at. Thanks.

1.4bar boost is as much as you reliably dare on K24... Dropping off to about 0.8bar on the redline - read the compressor map

I read somewhere on Motorgeek.com that the i5 engines can do around 200 CFM per cylinder.

Its of that order in theory at least...

If you do the math on a 2.5 stroker at 7000rpm (or 8000rpm on 2226cc) and 100% VE with 2bar boost (PR above ~3.3) you get into 1000cfm territory - which is 200 per cylinder. The trick is having an efficient trubo and intercooler running at those levels to keep air temps down for healthy combustion, knock avoidance and good mixture.
