    Forge Turbo Bypass Valves

Forge Bypass / Dump Valves Question

I am gathering together some related bits for when the Samco group buy hoses eventually arrive. I joined the ‘overboost protection mode’ club a couple of weeks ago so the hoses can’t come soon enough. Searching the site is making me a theoretical expert. This overconfidence, combined with my mechanical virginity should be interesting when the parts come.

Anyone fitted a Forge DV006 valve rather than the 007? There’s been lots of comment on the site about the 007 which everyone here with a Forge valve seems to have. According to Forge Motorsport they recommend the DV006 for the S2. Their comment was it works more efficiently but is slightly larger than the 007. (Same price so no commercial incentive). Space is a bit tight behind the right headlamp so will it fit?
    Anyone know?

I have a 006 too. It is a tight fit but it does squeeze in there. I would have got the 007 but I was offered the 006 second hand with a brand new ally piston upgrade for 50quid...an offer I couldn't refuse!

Im having a bit of trouble with mine, i was experiencing some 'surging' when i installed it the 'wrong' way round (i.e boost pressure from turbo pushing against bottom face of piston...not at 90deg to it), as recomended in this link

anyway, ive now fitted aby airbox and maf-turbo intake hose, due to my puncture repair fix of my holed 3b pipe failing. so now the dv is in the aby position and no matter which way the dv is fitted it is surging again,
it must be my dv then, dont think anyone else is getting this problem, i bought it second hand but it had never been fitted to anything, has a blue spring.
do i need a stiffer spring due to running higher boost levels?
what the hell causes this surging anyway? its not very pleasent.
i'll ring forge tomorrow and get a service kit.

Also running a 006 in the 'Correct' position after fitting it both ways round to see what the diference was all about and on my ABY, fitted the 'wrong' way round, the car was horrible to drive, it surged a lot taking all enjoyment away from driving the car.

Fitted the right way round, the 006 albeit is a tight fit, works good, even though the 006 is a re-circulating valve, when revved beyond 6000rpm it sounds like its dumping to atmosphere on mine :-) sounds great! maybe I have a blown hose ;-)

          I say get one!!

But you can buy about 4 OE valves for the price of one 006 valve!!!

I am using the Forge DVR (got it by accident - a friend with a RS6 ordered 2 and the springs were to hard for his setup - my original Bosch valve went and I bought one of his). The DVR reacts very quickly (using the middle spring - can't remember what colour it is), fits easily as it is the same size as the Bosch DV and makes a nice DV chatter noise. According to www.forgemotorsport.co.uk the DVR is their quickest reacting valve for racing applications. It has a diaphram (the DV006 and DV007 has a piston) but Forge replaces the diaphrams free of charge.
