Could be a bad plug, bad coil to boot connector (ABY) or coil (ABY). You might want to check this out:

If it's not the plug's then the MAF would be the next on my list.

Oops. Just checked your car specs. 3B, so the ABY-related issues won't help. Checking the plugs and distributor to plug wires should still be done. Speaking of distributor, what about the rotor. I believe there is an issue (potentially a nasty issue) if you run a 7A rotor instead of a proper 3B rotor. As I understand it, the 7A rotor has a wider contact than the 3B rotor and this can lead to "spark jump" (not good). You might want to check the part no.

        I think the 7A rotor is 055 905 225 B and the
        3B rotor is 052 905 225 C. Perhaps somebody could confirm that.

Type of plugs you are using?
          What is the plug gap?
Worth changing the rotor arm (Right one as stated above) Distrubutor cap. after that look at replacing the leads.

Bosch F5 DPOR plugs are great on these engines and are listed for the RS2.
